EVOC training for Explorers
This class prepares Explorers for the basic emergency vehicle driver training per national and federal standards. The basic emergency vehicle driver class is required for initial employment as a Firefighter, Emergency Medical Technician, Paramedic or Rescue Squad member. This special training for Explorers is only available through the Ohio Fire Academy. Explorers must be at least 16 years of age and have a valid driver’s license.

Explorers will participate in both classroom training, and driving competency training.

 Classroom training will include:
· Legal Aspects
· State and Federal Laws
· Vehicle Maintenance
· Vehicle Safety
· Vehicle Dynamics
· Accident Avoidance
· Case Studies

Driving Road Course includes:
· Emergency Vehicle Driving
· Accident Avoidance
· Proper Driver Techniques
· Backing up Techniques
· Proper Stopping Procedures

The class is limited to the first 25 Explorers.  The cost is $10 and includes all materials and lunch.

When: Saturday, March 23, 2013
Time: Registration at 9:30 a.m., class begins promptly at 10 a.m. and will end by 4 p.m.
